Well, today was excavation again and I am so stoked! We got to try a different spot from the rock shelter. Last week our test pit was pitifully shallow due to us hitting bed rock. But today, we set up the test pit just off of the trail where a lithic was found last year. The first thing we did was find a possible hammer stone in front of a wall face, so we decided to set up our test pit right there. We all got to dig, sift, record, and photograph our progress. Although we didn’t have any more significant finds, we did get a couple of the smaller land snail shells and some charcoal to bag for our efforts.
