"Community relationships, especially with our kupuna, provides us with the moʻolelo (story) that is vital before conducting any archaeological practice. It promotes a well balanced stewardship with science and culture. These photos were taken during an interview with Aunty Irene who was born and raised in Waimea Valley. Her reflection of how she was raised illustrated a rich culture and a sustainable valley."
